JOHN PETTS on 11 October 2007 Dies at 74
It is with regret that we report the death of John Petts on 11 October 2007

During his three years on 249 Squadron, from 1960 to 1963, John was a popular and enthusiastic member, professionally, socially and in the sporting world.

He was Squadron Navigation Leader during a period when the squadron was particularly successful in bombing and navigation competitions and success in these events was due in no small measure to his efforts.

A fine all-round sportsman, John represented the Squadron and the Station at cricket and hockey and played football for the Squadron. He was also an enthusiastic member of the Squadron SPLINGE (volleyball without rules) team and an active member of the Services Water-Ski Club.

John passed away less than two weeks after returning from the Squadron reunion in Cyprus, which he very much enjoyed, and will be sadly missed.

Our sincere condolences go to Rosemary, his wife, in her sudden and unexpected loss.
